Alma 3:18-19 Every Man That Is Cursed

18 Now the Amlicites knew not that they were fulfilling the words of God when they began to mark themselves in their foreheads; nevertheless they had come out in open rebellion against God; therefore it was expedient that the curse should fall upon them.
19 Now I would that ye should see that they brought upon themselves the curse; and even so doth every man that is cursed bring upon himself his own condemnation.
(Alma 3:18-19)

When we choose to disobey God, we mark ourselves by our actions. We may also begin to mark ourselves in other ways: through our dress and grooming, the way we talk, the places we go, and the people we spend time with. Like the mark the Amlicites made on their forehead, these “marks” may be harmless in and of themselves, but they have the effect of cursing us as they set us apart  and separate us from the fellowship we might have had with the Saints.
